Tommy spent twenty years as a Texas high school basketball head coach where his teams averaged more than 20 victories each season. As Head Coach of The Colony High School from 1986-2004, his teams won five District Championships, earned two trips to the Regional Finals and in 2001 advanced to the AAAAA Final Four. He has coached twelve NCAA Division I players, and four who have enjoyed professional careers. Tommy coached Deron Williams, the overall third pick in the 2005 NBA by the Utah Jazz, and Bracey Wright, the Minnesota Timberwolves’ 2005 second round selection. In 2004, he assisted Dallas Mavericks assistant coach Del Harris with the Chinese Olympic team. In 2000, Tommy led Team USA in the Global Games and coached the Texas All-Star team in the Oil Bowl Classic.
